The first day's
activity will be mountain biking, and the venue will be the
White Mountains. This region of Maine is home to some
of the Eastern U.S.'s premier biking areas. We spend
a full day cruising the trails. Whether you are an expert
or a novice you will be sure to have lots of fun.
Rest and relax, as we will travel north
across the state to Millinocket, we will be sure to stop along the
way for a classic Maine dining experience. Our leaders know
just which towns have the best cooking! |
We
will arrive at our lakeside camp and set up camp. It is a
late night, sleep will come easy. On the
second day we canoe on one of Maine's finest remote lakes.
Enjoy all that nature offers, thick dense forests, vast open
skies, and crisp clean water. Keep a keen watch for moose
and bear. May want to have a camera close by as we paddle
along.
After paddling back to camp there will be
plenty of time to relax and enjoy, take a swim, read a book, or
simply take a nap. A gourmet campfire cooked dinner awaits
the hungry adventurers. |

The
next day brings us to Baxter State Park for a day hike on Maine's
tallest mountain, Katahdin. There are many routes to the top
and even more trails fanning out along Katahdin's
shoulders. To be on this mighty mountain is accomplishment
enough for most of us. However, if your goal is to make it
to the summit, we will do our part to help you achieve that goal.
If it is late in the season we may even see a through hiker on the
Appalachian Trail as they complete their long summers journey. |
